What began as a sole proprietorship in 1968 with the manufacture of interface converters quickly developed into a company with unique broadcast solutions. The founder Ernst Hugentobler was the first at the 1973 World Ski Championships to be able to display Longines time signals directly in the video image. The font generators developed for this purpose also made it possible to operate and display complex controls in the simplest way. This was followed in 1976 by Odilog, a remotely controllable, electromechanical audio matrix, and shortly afterwards the first small intercom with dialing function. With the growing need for communication, HUGEL specialized more and more in automated audio and control systems during the 1980s. In 1984 the first networkable, mediating intercom system Odicom emerged. With Theo Hugentobler joining the company, this principle was further perfected and modernized after the turn of the millennium - in 2007 TELLiX, a highly automated, modular intercom system for up to 10,000 subscribers, was born. The rapid technological change in the areas of IP, FPGA and touch displays was subsequently used to design a universal all-IP audio and communication platform with PicaPi.

PSP-T
The PSP-T is the smallest subscriber panel. With its small overall depth, it is suitable for installation in a table top. It has an internal microphone and an internal speaker. Power is supplied via PoE (13W).
 
PSP-D
The PSP-D is the desktop version of the subscriber panels. In addition to its RGB-illuminable incremental controllers, it has an internal loudspeaker, a headset socket and a 48V phantom microphone socket. The dual design of the network connection and PoE power supply increases the reliability. The PSP-D version with its HiQ audio interfaces is also suitable as a commentator unit or for OFF speaker cabins. It can also be used as a monitoring unit.
 
PSP-R
The PSP-R subscriber panel is a 19" rack version and the largest user interface to the PicaPi system. The two wide-angle, graphic touch displays make it possible to operate both intercom connections and apps simultaneously. The internal broadband loudspeaker also provides sufficient power for noisy environments. The PSP-R is equipped with two LAN interfaces, one of which can directly connect and feed a PoE-capable device.

Expansion modules

Headset-Modul
The headset module (HSM) allows the bi-directional integration of a stereo headset into a Dante network. Both dynamic microphones and electret condenser microphones can be used. The playback volume can be set separately for both channels (L/R) and additionally increased by means of the boost switch in noisy environments. Power is supplied via PoE (13W).
 
GPIO-Modul
The GPIO module (GPM) allows the transmission and reception of control signals via Dante network. With potential-free wiring, a maximum of 4 signals can be processed, with a common reference potential up to 8 signals (per input and output). Power is supplied via PoE (13W).
 
SIP-Modul

The SIP module (SIP-TT) converts 2 x 2 analog audio channels to one stereo SIP connection each. The audio signals are converted via an OPUS codec. The audio interfaces also have RS-422 ports, which control the framing for TELLIX transit messages, and transmit them to the remote station via SIP messages. The open source interfaces of the Linux kernel allow customer-specific extensions (e. g. web server for SIP configuration).

Central Router:

PRU

In its basic version, the PRU-1000 is an audio router with up to 4 interfaces, each with 64 channels on 19"/1U. The individual inputs can be freely switched or distributed to the available outputs. For each interface the network connection can be done either via Dante or SMPTE-2110. The internal SRCs also allow up to 4 differently synchronized networks to be merged. The PRU-1000 can optionally be expanded with an intercom switching unit and a mixable and adjustable matrix.
